I'm a student currently studying in a Business Management program. This glossary will be helpful for fellow students in my program or perhaps other people who want to understand the ins and outs of business. This glossary has twenty words that I hope will help you understand more comprehensively the subject of business. Use the pronunciation tool to hear the word you are reading about.
- account
- noun
- A record or statement of financial expenditure and receipts relating to a particular period or purpose.
- Example: The ledger contains all the income and expense accounts of all the clients.

- Property owned by a person or company, regarded as having value and available to meet debts, commitments, or legacies.
- Example: Children are no longer economic assets but are in fact very financially costly.

- Give official permission for or approval to (an undertaking or agent).
- Example: Nothing contained in the present Charter shall authorize the United Nations to intervene in matte [law].

- noun
- A statement of the assets, liabilities, and capital of a business or other organization at a particular point in time, detailing the balance of income and expenditure over the preceding period.
- Example: Finally, an evaluation of the balance sheets and relevant ratios!

- Example: We are bench marking our performance against external criteria.

- The action or process of supplying goods to stores and other businesses that sell to consumers.
- Example: A manager has the choice of four types of distribution.

- Example: The banking system and the fiscal policies are much more complex than you think.

- A complete list of items such as property, goods in stock, or the contents of a building.
- Example: This suggests a child's phonological inventory may have an influence on its phonological processes. 2.22 Consonant Harmony Ingram writes that consonants often assimilate to a neighboring consonant in predictable ways.

- A person with direct managerial responsibility for a particular employee.
- Example: Candidates will have a second interview with the line manager.

- Determine the order for dealing with (a series of items or tasks) according to their relative importance.
- Example: It is therefore vital to prioritize and quickly move between priorities whilst transforming trade-offs into capabilities and tactics.

- Example: This would be a costly process however, with little profit in return.

- Example: We have drawn up a business schedule for your workers to look into.
